Candice in Madagascar
Candice holds baby Tamtam, who at 7 months isn’t growing properly. His mother doesn’t have much milk, so he relies on the water for his food. At just a mere 6 pounds he isn’t growing properly and with the local water being hazardous for his health, Tamtam doesn’t have a huge chance of survival.
“After spending part of my childhood in Africa, I promised myself that when I grew up I would help the underprivileged children and people there. The answer is providing access to safe water and sanitation, something that we all take for granted.

A few years ago I learned that 4 children die every minute from dirty water; a shocking fact in the 21st century.

fresh2o is a dramatic initiative set to change this.

At the last global assessment carried out by the World Health Organisation in 2000, it was discovered that 1.1 billion people do not have access to safe drinking-water. The health consequences of this are devastating and at the last count meant 2.2 million deaths occurring PER YEAR.

8 years ago the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that has been developed by the Commission of Sustainability into the Millennium Development Goals. One of the targets aims to 'Reduce by half, the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water by 2015,' a goal that fresh2o is committed to supporting. fresh2o has the ability to motivate an army of young, caring and influential supporters – YOU! Through your support and campaigning we will influence politicians, governments and charities to address this global tragedy.

Using our unique imagery we are able to raise global awareness; the media and public love the initiative. We have only been going for a few short years and already we are supported by many well-known faces including Lily Cole, Keira Knightley, Nicko McBrain, Sir Nick Faldo, Jay-K, Mica Paris, and Janet Jackson to name but a few.

However it is public support and awareness that will really make a difference. With funds we raise today through your generosity, we can save lives and give millions of people a brighter tomorrow.”
