> fresh2o in Uganda

When fresh2o teamed up with Edirisa for the successful Live and Don’t Let Die event at One Marylebone back in November 2009 we raised enough money to start vital work in Uganda.

The collaboration between the two charities was a perfect combination of aims and objections, which compliment each other.

Still working closely with Edirisa our work in Uganda has commenced where we are installing rain harvesting tanks and delivering messages on hygiene and sanitation.

We have started home visits from community extension workers. The training and support will teach the local people practical skills on how to run the system and use it effectively.

The rain harvesting tanks will come in various sizes. From domestic tanks which will supply a whole household water and to larger groups such as local schools and villages. The domestic tanks will collect sufficient rainwater to supply fresh water for an entire year.

By the end of this year fresh2o will have provided 5 giant rain-harvesting tanks for schools and villages and 50 domestic tanks.

Hundreds of people will have access to clean water, hygiene and education.
